Peggy Gou and Charlotte de Witte are among the headline acts announced for EXIT Montenegro as the festival brand prepares to bring two major music events to the country this summer.
The shows form part of EXIT Festival's World Tour 2026, with the project aiming to put Montenegro firmly on the map as a destination for international music fans.
First Event at Long Beach in Ulcinj
The first event is planned for early July during the traditional EXIT festival weekend, with Long Beach in Ulcinj providing the backdrop. Stretching for more than 13 kilometres along the Adriatic, the sandy beach will host the large-scale event in what organisers promise will be a unique setting for live music.
The project also marks the return of Sea Dance Festival to Budva, with this edition set to be among the first events of its scale to be completely free for festival-goers.
Sea Dance Festival Returns Free of Charge
Sea Dance has previously welcomed major acts including The Prodigy, Jamiroquai, David Guetta, Skrillex, Underworld, Fatboy Slim, Tale of Us, Boris Brejcha, Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens. It has also won the European Festival Award for Best Medium-Sized Festival.
EXIT founder and CEO Dušan Kovačević said: “Montenegro is one of Europe's best-kept secrets. With its stunning nature and vibrant Adriatic coastline, it has everything it takes to become a landmark destination for a new generation of travelers who live for combining world-class holidays with unforgettable live music experiences. EXIT was built on the belief that music and freedom go hand in hand, and we are delighted to bring this spirit to this beautiful country, building a lasting legacy together.”
Economic Impact and International Expansion
Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spajić also welcomed the project, saying: “The EXIT to Montenegro project will bring two major festivals to our country, making Montenegro an epicentre of the global music scene this summer and delivering exceptional international promotion for our coastline. The festivals will welcome visitors from more than 100 countries, generating at least 210,000 overnight stays and over €40 million in tourism revenue in 2026.”
The Montenegro events are part of EXIT's expanding international operation, which includes Sea Star Festival in Croatia, Spiral Festival in Malta and a multi-day, multi-stage event at the Great Pyramids of Giza.
The World Tour was launched after EXIT faced government pressure in Serbia following its public support for students and the wider movement for freedom and justice. The festival subsequently announced plans to take its energy and community beyond its home country.
That international expansion has already earned EXIT the Promoter of the Year award at this year's European Festival Awards. The festival has previously won three Best Major Festival titles at the European Festival Awards and UK Festival Awards.
