Paddy McGuinness Issues Apology Over Radio 2 'Jugs' Blunder
Paddy McGuinness Apologises for Radio 2 'Jugs' Blunder

Paddy McGuinness issued an awkward apology live on BBC Radio 2 after accidentally making a double entendre while discussing a listener's shopping addiction.

Listener's Confession Sparks Awkward Moment

The comedian, best known for Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, was reading out a message from a listener named Debbie. She confessed: "Jugs, chopping boards and frying pans. I cannot stop buying them, Paddy. I'm drawn to them, and I live on my own. I can't help it. I'm addicted."

McGuinness said he could relate, particularly to the jugs. He recounted his own recent shopping trip: "I picked up a Pyrex jug while I was there, and I'm the same. There's something about those little glass shiny things. I'm like a magpie when it comes to jugs."

Realisation and Apology

Laughter erupted in the studio as McGuinness realised his blunder. He exclaimed: "Oh, God." After an uneasy silence and more laughter, he appeared to clock that "jugs" could be heard in a less broadcast-friendly sense. He added: "I do apologise. That... please... that is not how I..." before swiftly announcing, "Moving on…"

Upcoming Celebrity MasterChef Appearance

McGuinness is set to appear as a guest judge on the new series of Celebrity MasterChef, alongside Angry Ginge and Zoe Ball.
