Nicole Kidman's Daughter, 17, Breaks Met Gala Age Rule at Debut

Nicole Kidman's daughter, Sunday Rose, has made her Met Gala debut at the age of 17, reportedly breaching the event's strict 18-and-over age limit. The teenager attended the star-studded event alongside her mother, who served as a co-chair for the evening.

Organisers had previously confirmed that the Met Gala is strictly for those aged 18 and above, stating it is 'not an appropriate event for people under 18'. In 2018, Maddie Ziegler, then 15, said she was 'not old enough' to attend. However, Sunday Rose was not the only underage attendee; Beyoncé also brought her 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, to the red carpet.

Sunday Rose turned heads in a custom Dior three-dimensional gown adorned with pink and lavender floral embellishments. Speaking to Vogue, she described her outfit as 'symbolising something blooming', adding that it was her first Met. Nicole Kidman wore a red sequined Chanel gown, explaining she wanted to 'embrace the way in which red has been used in art', including as a symbol of love and motherhood.

Despite the glamorous evening, Sunday Rose was reportedly back in the classroom the following morning at 8am. This was Kidman's third time serving as co-chair, having previously done so in 2003 and 2005. The 2024 Met Gala theme was 'Costume Art', with a dress code of 'Fashion Is Art'.
