Two of the world's biggest online personalities, YouTube titan MrBeast and Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth, have found themselves at the centre of a social media roasting after posting what many fans are calling a painfully awkward prank.
The Awkward Museum Encounter
In a clip shared this week, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is seen visiting a museum with his fiancée, Thea Booysen. The pair appear to bump into Chris Hemsworth, the 42-year-old Avengers icon. MrBeast then approaches the actor and asks, 'Hey, can we take a photo?'
A willing Hemsworth agrees, but is swiftly knocked back when MrBeast clarifies: 'No, I just want you to take a photo of me and my fiancée.' The video shows a visibly confused and slightly put-out Hemsworth questioning, 'So you don't want me in it?' before being instructed to simply snap the couple in front of a dinosaur skeleton.
Fan Backlash and a Few Supporters
The reaction from followers was swift and largely unimpressed. The comment section filled with critiques labelling the stunt as deeply uncool. 'How are we this corny in 2026?' lamented one user, with many others echoing the single-word review: 'Corny.' A third bluntly stated, 'Nobody laughed.'
However, not all feedback was negative. Some applauded Hemsworth's good-natured participation in the joke. One fan wrote, 'Lol! That was cute. He pokes fun [at] himself with the best of em!' while another joked, 'Thor felt like an ordinary human being.'
A History of Collaboration
This is not the first time the Australian-born actor has teamed up with the digital creator. In 2025, Hemsworth joined MrBeast for a workout video filmed in his hometown of Byron Bay, which was uploaded to YouTube a year ago.
MrBeast, who posted his first video at age 13 in 2012, has built an unparalleled online empire. He has amassed 460 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel. His success has translated into immense wealth, with Celebrity Net Worth estimating his fortune at US$2.6 billion as of January 2026.
