Miami Fire Engine Goes Viral with Tartan Army Tribute Ahead of Scotland vs Brazil
Miami Fire Engine Viral with Tartan Army Tribute Before Scotland vs Brazil

A Miami fire engine has gone viral after it was seen driving through the city blasting Scotland's unofficial anthem 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' in a tribute to the Tartan Army ahead of tonight's World Cup match against Brazil. The footage, shared on TikTok by a Scottish fan, shows the fire engine parading with the song, prompting delighted reactions from social media users.

Viral Video Sparks Praise

The video was captioned: 'Miami has heard how fun the Scottish fans are and this morning the fire engine was playing our song. #miami #worldcup #tartanarmy.' One user commented: 'Love it. Thank you so much Miami firefighters ….. we are so proud of our Tartan Army and all the American people embracing us.' Another added: 'Absolutely brilliant, lap it up everyone.' A fourth offered a very Scottish saying: 'That's pure dead brilliant.'

Contrast with Police Response

However, the Miami police did not receive the same praise. One comment read: 'Well at least the fire service are gettin on board. Have a word with the polis.' Another echoed: 'Maybe tell the cops that.' This follows a separate incident where a Scotland fan, Chris Nicholl, placed a traffic cone on a statue of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León in downtown Miami. As he jumped off the pedestal, a police officer shouted 'get off of there!' and forced him to remove the cone. Locals have since begged police to 'not kill the vibe' and let the Tartan Army celebrate.

Warm Welcome in Miami

The Scots arrived in Southern Florida earlier this week, welcomed by locals after their jubilant World Cup celebrations in Boston. Last week, the mayor of Boston announced a sister-alliance with Glasgow, and Miami appears keen to extend similar hospitality. Steve Clarke's team faces Brazil tonight at Boston Stadium in their final group-stage match, with a chance to make World Cup history by qualifying for the next round.
