Meghan Markle's UK Return Feelings Exposed by Ex-Pal

Meghan Markle's former friend Nick Ede has revealed her true feelings about returning to the UK, saying she is happy to be back and loves the countryside. The Duchess of Sussex made her first official joint engagement with Prince Harry in Nottingham on Thursday, where they visited a youth charity and a food bank, hugging and posing for selfies with the public.

Former Friend on Meghan's UK Return

Speaking to Cafe Casino on behalf of Express.co.uk, the presenter and PR expert said: "Yes, [Meghan is happy to be back in the UK]. I think that she loves the UK as a place to live and she has always been a fan of the countryside and the Cotswolds are a beautiful place. It's very different from LA but I do think she is probably happy in the environment."

Nick, who first met Meghan during her time on Suits and helped her set up agency meetings to explore opportunities in the UK, also addressed what the duchess would have done the moment she landed. He remarked: "Probably call her English friends and go for a country walk. I know she adores the countryside and long walks."

Public Reaction and Acting Return

The pair became friends and would often frequent Soho House together and go on regular shopping trips before losing touch ahead of her wedding to Harry. Reacting to the crowds who came out in support of the Sussexes, Nick said: "Yes, I think the public are warming to her more than even they would have thought possible."

His comments come after Netflix hit back at claims that Meghan was "used" by them to promote the series The Gentlemen, just weeks after rumours swirled that she was joining the cast. Talks that Meghan was joining the show have since been squashed; however, Netflix has now taken aim at the claims. Speaking to The Times, an insider said: "This is not a show in need of stunt casting."

But Nick thinks show bosses may have missed a trick, as he suggested we could see Meghan back on-screen in an acting role. He said: "I think that she loves acting and that was her first love when she was young and that's what she was known for pre meeting Harry, so it makes sense for her to act. I think it would be a ratings winner for sure."

Harry, Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK in August after living in the US for six years.
