Maya Jama and King Kenny romance rumours: source denies relationship
Maya Jama and King Kenny romance rumours denied by source

Maya Jama and her Celebrity Traitors co-star King Kenny have been facing romance speculation after he was spotted staying at her north London flat. However, a source close to Jama has insisted that a romance “is not on the cards” and that Kenny has been sleeping “on the sofa”.

Secret London Meet-Ups

The Love Island presenter, 32, and boxer and YouTuber, 29, grew close on the BBC reality show and conspired as fellow Traitors to kill off the other contestants. The pair sparked dating rumours when Kenny was photographed staying at Jama’s London home for two nights, in photos obtained by The Sun.

He was seen leaving Jama’s home on Friday before arriving at the BBC to film the Traitors Uncloaked finale aftershow. He then returned to her pad to watch the final episode air. The duo shared photos on the same day that appeared to have the same white curtains in the background, thought to be in Jama’s home.

Halloween Party and Fan Speculation

Kenny was also at Jama’s star-studded Halloween party in east London over the weekend, rubbing shoulders with other Traitors castmates like winner Sebastian Croft and Hannah Fry. While fans were quick to speculate over Kenny and Jama’s status, a source close to Jama insisted a romance “is not on the cards”.

“Maya and Kenny are just friends. There is nothing romantic between them. Kenny has been firmly on the sofa this week and the pair find it hilarious that their relationship could be anything else,” a source told The Sun. “They’ve seen fans of the show talking about them online and find it really funny, but romance has not and is not on the cards.”

Friendship During Celebrity Traitors

The presenter has been single since splitting from Man City footballer Ruben Dias in May after 18 months together - just weeks before she began filming the Celebrity Traitors. The insider added that the pair are “genuinely really good friends” but that Jama is “single and enjoying time with her friends”.

During Celebrity Traitors, Kenny was teased for his increasingly close bond with Jama, who repeatedly said he was her “closest” friend in the Scottish castle. Kenny said at one point: “If Maya is a Traitor I will never look at her in the same way.” Comedian Romesh Ranganathan quipped, “Well first of all I don’t believe that for a second,” prompting Kenny to burst out laughing.

Kenny put their loyalty aside, however, when he voted for Jama to be banished from the castle in a “high-risk” move in the final. Speaking after her exit, Jama revealed there were no hard feelings. “You know what, I obviously love Kenny to bits. I think he’s amazing,” she told Variety. “And he didn’t really have much of a choice, so it didn’t hurt as much. In hindsight actually, watching back, I’m like, maybe we could have wrangled it. But in the moment, it just felt like everyone was going for me. And if Kenny did protect me, then he was going to be finished - even though he did end up being finished anyway. It felt like the only option, so I didn’t hate him for it.”
