Mary Fitzgerald, a mainstay of Netflix's Selling Sunset since 2019, has hinted she may leave the show following a series of explosive confrontations in season nine. The new season, which landed on Netflix recently, shows Mary storming off set and refusing to film after a heated argument with co-star Chelsea Lazkani over a bouquet of flowers.
The drama unfolded after Chelsea sent Mary flowers following a burglary at Mary's home, where three masked men stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of items. Mary, who said she still felt 'pretty messed up' and unsafe, reacted angrily, claiming the gesture was 'not genuine.' She told producers: 'I'm done filming, I'm not gonna continue. You have no idea.'
Later, Mary met with boss Jason Oppenheim to express her doubts about staying on the show. 'I just don't know if this is the place I want to be,' she said. 'I just want simple and I want happy and I don't know why that's so hard.' Jason admitted the office dynamic needed to improve and said he did not want to lose her.
Despite the turmoil, Mary appears to have decided to remain for now. The Oppenheim Group website still lists her as Vice President, noting over 15 years of real estate experience and over $105 million in sales. The season nine reunion, set to air on November 5, may reveal more about her future on the show.
