Marvel urges 42-hour binge before Avengers Doomsday

Marvel is urging movie fans to binge nearly two full days of its films and TV series before watching this winter's mega-blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday. The studio says that to get full enjoyment out of the superhero epic in December, viewers need to catch up on 14 previous movies and two TV series, totalling 42 hours of viewing.

Doomsday Homework on Disney+

The required viewing, dubbed 'Doomsday Homework,' includes everything from Black Panther, Deadpool and Spider-Man hits to the Loki series, not just the Avengers films Infinity War and Endgame. An official curated watchlist has been created on Disney+, which is a fraction of the 38 films and 17 TV shows that make up the entire MCU franchise. It comes in at 41.65 hours altogether.

Marvel's future direction

Marvel president Kevin Feige promised that after the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, it will be a “streamlined, simplified, single universe that’s easier for audiences to follow”.
