RHONJ Star Margaret Josephs Unveils Nose Job Results

Margaret Josephs, the 58-year-old star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has publicly revealed the outcome of her recent nose job, which she describes as a 'nasal rejuvenation'. The reality television personality took to Instagram this week to share photographs from her recovery process and the final results of the procedure.

Addressing Age-Related Changes

In her social media posts, Josephs explained her decision to undergo rhinoplasty, citing specific concerns that emerged with age. 'No one wants a droopy tip... as I got older my tip started to droop as I smiled and I was really unhappy about it,' she wrote. She elaborated further, noting, 'When I was younger I never disliked my nose and could never imagine doing a nose job, but with age the cartilage in my nose didn’t support my tip and it emphasized a slight bump in my nose.'

Josephs admitted that her appearance in photographs became a significant source of distress, ultimately leading her to consult with Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie for what she termed a 'slight tweak'. She expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, 'Now my nose fits my face perfectly and no one can quite put their finger on why!'

Rhinoplasty as an Anti-Ageing Strategy

This procedure aligns with a growing trend where rhinoplasty is increasingly viewed as a secret anti-ageing hack, particularly among individuals in their 50s and 60s. Dr. Deepak Dugar, a Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon renowned for his 'Scarless Nose Job' technique, discussed this phenomenon with Daily Mail last year.

'As we age our noses and ears continue to grow and droop with gravity,' Dr. Dugar explained. 'If you’ve never had any rhinoplasty work previously done, sometimes you’ll notice your nose looks longer and droopier than your younger photos once you start to get into your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.'

He has observed a 'massive uptick' in older patients seeking rhinoplasty, attributing this shift to greater awareness of anti-ageing options. 'This generation of patients over 50 are more in tune with their anti-aging options as the facelift industry has catapulted the idea of natural facial rejuvenations,' he said. 'But this leads [patients] to then focus on the center of the face that can't be addressed with a facelift, so then they inquire about rhinoplasty for their nose.'

Demographic and Financial Factors

Historically, Dr. Dugar's smallest demographic for nose jobs was patients aged 50 and above. However, this group has now become his second largest, following only the 18-to-25 age range. He highlighted additional factors driving this trend, noting, 'The 50-plus generation also has more expendable income and have most likely been desiring the procedure for most of their adult lives, leading to no confusion as to whether they want to get it done or not.'

Dr. Dugar, who has become a sought-after specialist for rhinoplasty in Hollywood, emphasised the transformative potential of the procedure. 'Typically, a more youthful nose will be one that is less droopy with a slight upward axis, giving a more cherubian and younger look to the nose and face,' he detailed. 'And sometimes decreasing the overall size of the nose to make it look more contoured and defined helps make the face look younger and more youthful as well.'

Additional Procedures and Public Appearances

In addition to the rhinoplasty, Margaret Josephs underwent a facial fat transfer procedure and a stem cell treatment to restore lost volume in her face. She shared images showcasing the bruising and swelling from the fat transfer as part of her recovery documentation.

Since completing her latest round of cosmetic enhancements, Josephs has confidently displayed her new look at various public events. These include appearances at Bravocon in November and a Broadway show in New York City on February 10.

History of Cosmetic Surgery

Josephs is no stranger to plastic surgery, having undergone extensive facial work in 2019. Her previous procedures included a revision neck lift, a deep plane facelift, a lower eyelid lift, and a revision upper eyelid lift, all performed by Dr. Mark Karolak. The following year, she had a breast lift and reduction conducted by Dr. Joseph Michaels, who had also worked on fellow RHONJ star Dolores Catania.

In a previous interview with New Beauty, Josephs expressed her commitment to maintaining her appearance through regular treatments. 'I am devoted to my plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Karolak and regularly maintain my Botox; I also do have lasers sporadically,' she revealed. Reflecting on her facelift, she added, 'Truthfully, my facelift was the best thing I ever did. There is nothing topical that can achieve the results a facelift can once you have muscle loss and sagging.'

Future Prospects

Margaret Josephs is currently rumoured to be returning for the next season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, following the show's temporary pause for retooling in 2024. Her openness about cosmetic procedures continues to spark conversations about ageing, beauty standards, and the evolving landscape of plastic surgery.
