Pop star Madonna has revealed that she was “disturbed” after the vintage costume she wore at the Coachella music festival went missing, and it has still not been returned.
Missing Costume Incident
The 67-year-old singer joined Sabrina Carpenter during the second weekend headline slot at the California festival earlier this year, wearing a vintage purple corset dress. Following the performance, Madonna posted on Instagram offering a reward for the return of the pieces, which included a jacket, corset, and dress.
In an exclusive interview with Graham Norton for a new BBC programme, Madonna was asked whether the costume had been recovered. “Nope, it’s very naughty,” she replied. She explained that the costume was “taken out” of her dressing room. The interview briefly went quiet after Norton mentioned the incident.
“I think Coachella is a very distracting environment. There’s a lot going on. Somebody found the costumes and helped themselves,” she added. “I was very disturbed by it for a couple of days, because they’re historical.”
Collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter
Madonna described her collaboration with Carpenter as happening “in a very pure way” after Carpenter invited her to join her headline set. They performed songs including Vogue and Like A Prayer, and debuted their new track Bring Me Love, which will appear on Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II.
Upcoming Album and Rumoured Collaborations
The album, set for release on July 3, is a follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2005 album Confessions On A Dancefloor. It has been rumoured that Australian singer Kylie Minogue is among the stars featured on the record, which also includes a collaboration with Madonna and her eldest daughter Lourdes Leon.
