Love Island star Samie Elishi has responded to the 'millions of opinions' directed at her and Tyrique Hyde after the couple announced they are expecting a baby.
The pair, who began dating eight months ago, shared their news in an Instagram video showing them at an ultrasound appointment. The clip has been viewed more than 18 million times on the platform.
Elishi's Response to Fans
Some fans expressed surprise at how quickly the pregnancy followed her relationship with Hyde, which began in March, just weeks after she split from All Stars winner Ciaran Davies. Elishi, 26, addressed the comments in a post featuring a black-and-white photo of Hyde touching her bump.
'Thank you for all the love we've received in the past 24 hours, we appreciate you all,' she wrote. 'This world can be an ugly scary place at times, especially with social media and millions of opinions it's not always right but sadly it's the way it is.'
'However, the good always outweighs the bad; we're so blessed and happy right now. All our lovely comments and messages haven't gone unnoticed.'
Hyde's Message and Public Appearances
On his Instagram story, Hyde wrote: 'Don't make a scene. Can't wait for this next chapter. Love you,' tagging Elishi's account.
The couple received congratulations from fellow TV stars, including Olivia Attwood, Rochelle Humes, Maya Jama and Georgia Harrison. Shortly after the announcement, they attended the Pride of Britain Awards together, where Elishi showed the beginnings of her baby bump.
