Love Island bombshell Lola Deal has opened up about her surprising bond with Julia Majchrzak, revealing that the pair shared friendly conversations and even supported each other during tough times in the villa, despite their on-screen feud.
Lola Claims She Consoled Julia After Eviction
Speaking on Love Island: Aftersun after her recent eviction, Lola provided insight into their dispute. "I feel like from very early on, I was trying to squash it and be civil," she explained. "I think, obviously, a lot of that wasn't shown. But me and Julia had good conversations in there."
The ITV star further revealed that she even comforted Julia when one of her closest friends was evicted. Lola said: "When Charleen left, I was consoling her a lot." Charleen Murphy, another Casa Amor sensation, was shown the door after only a few days in the main villa. Julia was visibly distraught following the eviction, and it appears Lola was on hand to provide comforting words.
The Feud That Ignited on Screen
ITV viewers have been witnessing the pair's spat simmer since the conclusion of Casa Amor, with many firmly backing Julia. The conflict ignited when Lola's long-term beau Sean Fitzgerald disclosed that Julia had been making advances towards him during Casa. This incensed Lola as she felt Julia should have recognised that Sean was out of bounds. The detective later confronted Julia, openly questioning her motives for pursuing the only man who was in a committed relationship in the villa.
However, Julia defended her actions, highlighting that Lola's anger should be directed at Sean, who owed her loyalty during Casa. Subsequent frosty exchanges between the two have been aired, but Lola insists they shared friendly conversations and even supported each other during tough times, reports OK!.
Lola and Sean Say Drama Was Settled
Lola and Sean also disclosed that they had actually settled the drama, but Julia kept revisiting it. This likely explains why Lola declined to participate in any further discussions about their disagreement. She stated: "It sort of kept coming out of the blue [...] it was being brought up and up and up. I think, in the end, it was just very much a difference of opinions, agree to disagree."
"But obviously it's quite hard when someone just keeps bringing it back up. I think that does make it difficult. But I was always happy to move on from it." By the time the pair exited the villa, they insist they were "civil" with everyone. Sean even contended that people are making the whole feud a bigger issue than it actually was.
