Love Island brothers Aidan and Kavan Murphy have an "advantage" in the villa, according to a former Islander. Property broker Aidan entered the villa on the first day as part of the original line-up alongside 11 other singletons hoping for a summer romance. He initially paired up with Ellie Chadwick before bombshell Yasmin Hadlow replaced her in the first dramatic dumping of the series. However, in an unexpected twist, the Scottish beauty returned to the villa with a new bombshell at her side: Aidan's younger brother, Kavan.
Former Islander Kaz Kamwi Shares Her Thoughts
Over the years, Love Island has welcomed sets of twins to the show. Former islander Kaz Kamwi, who appeared in series seven and All Stars series one, says that having a family member in the villa is a luxury. Speaking to BestBettingSites.co.uk, Kaz said: "I survived weeks on end because of my friendships in the villa both times and that's because I was so close with people I would never send home and I know they would have never sent me home. People are like 'it's not friend island' but it is Love Island and friend island at the same time. So I think when you've got a sibling in there, you're never going to go against each other."
Protection and Trust
She continued: "You're always going to protect each other and then you're going to protect each other's couple and interests so it's always an advantage. Also they've both got someone they can get genuine opinions and advice from and someone they actually trust whereas everyone else has to build trust with someone. You've got your comfort in there."
Family Reactions
Aidan and Kavan's mum, sister, and brother appeared on spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday (June 7) and spoke to host Maya Jama about their thoughts on the villa antics so far. Their mother described it as "strange" seeing two of her sons on the show, adding: "I have no idea how they got on Love Island, it's as much of a shock to me as it is to everybody else. It was a surprise, I found out just a little bit before." She went on to say: "I'm enjoying it. There are moments when my toes are curling though, I'm not gonna lie. I'm their mum."
Mum's Warning
Maya questioned the Murphy family matriarch about any advice she might have for her sons, and she was quick to issue a warning. "Kavan's very mature for his age. More mature than Aidan," she began. "Aidan, calm down. Settle it down." She then directed her advice to Kavan, cautioning him: "Don't follow in your brother's footsteps and kind of divert away from that."
Love Island airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
