The documentary, intended to focus on Tomlinson and Malik bonding over their rise to fame, reportedly spiralled into a confrontation. According to a source, Malik made a comment that left Tomlinson stunned, and when he tried to move, Malik punched him in the face, leaving him with cuts and concussion.
Following the alleged incident, Tomlinson returned to the UK while Malik went to Pennsylvania. The pair have not spoken in six months, and Netflix has cancelled the documentary. Tomlinson's sisters have also unfollowed Malik but remain connected to Harry Styles and Niall Horan.
Fans have expressed confusion and distress over the unfollowing, with many taking to social media to voice their reactions. One fan wrote, 'Why would Louis unfollow today and not in December?' Another said, 'It’s his way of confirming that the story is true.'
Earlier this week, Malik shared a photo from a hospital bed, thanking fans for their support and stating he was 'still unexpectedly recovering.' He did not mention the altercation.
