Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are at the centre of renewed romance rumours after they were photographed at the same party in Los Angeles on Friday. The pair, who play lovers in the Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance, have faced persistent dating speculation since filming wrapped last year.
Lopez, 57, and Goldstein, 46, who was born in London, were rumoured to have dated casually while filming the blockbuster before things "fizzled". However, their latest sighting at talent manager Cade Hudson's party has reignited the chatter.
Original Romance Rumours
Earlier this summer, Page Six reported that the pair dated after filming wrapped on Office Romance, following months of "flirting on set". An insider told the outlet: "Everyone saw them getting very cozy together at the wrap party and it was obvious they were into each other."
"Once filming wrapped, they were free to take things further and dated for quite some time," the source added. The insider said things eventually "fizzled" but there was "no bad blood".
"It just kind of came to a lull. They have a good friendship but in terms of romantic chemistry, that ship has sort of sailed," the insider said. The duo had "a really strong physical attraction" but "they just felt like they were better off friends than anyone else," according to the outlet. The Standard has contacted representatives for the pair for comment.
Brett's Comments About Jennifer
Goldstein, who is from Sutton, south London, previously enthused about Lopez's appearance in the 2018 film Hustlers, saying on a podcast: "F**king hell. 50! She's 50. I love her."
He added that he was jealous that one of her female co-stars got to hug her while she was wearing a fur coat in one scene. "I've never wanted to be cuddled more. That is one of the best cuddles," he said. "Give me one of your special cuddles."
Shutting Down the Rumours
Goldstein and Lopez shut down romance rumours while promoting their film during an interview on the Today show in the US. "There's never a time when I'm seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don't try to put me with the person," Lopez noted.
Goldstein added: "I think if you stand near her, that's what happens." When host Savannah Guthrie asked, "OK, so you're not dating in real life?", Lopez said, "Not dating," and Goldstein added, "Correct."
What Re-sparked the Rumours
The pair were photographed arriving and leaving Cade Hudson's party in Los Angeles on Friday. They were reportedly in the same car, although they made sure to enter the party separately. Lopez walked in alongside her longtime manager, Benny Medina, while Goldstein turned up on his own.
