Lisa Faulkner has revealed she warned her daughter Billie, 19, against pursuing an acting career, despite the teenager expressing interest in following in her mother's footsteps. The 53-year-old actress, who adopted Billie at 17 months old with ex-husband Chris Coghill, shared her advice in a recent interview.
“I'm like, 'No keep away from the acting'. I think it can be a great thing, though it's very up and down but if she wants to do it, she can,” Faulkner told Hello! Magazine. She added that Billie, who travels frequently, has not yet left home permanently.
Faulkner, known for roles in Brookside, Holby City, EastEnders, and Netflix's Missing You, is currently starring in the stage adaptation of Single White Female. She praised husband John Torode for his support, saying he has been running lines with her. “He's my husband and my best mate,” she said.
Meanwhile, Torode faces uncertainty over his ITV cooking show John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen after being dropped from MasterChef following a upheld complaint about using a racist term. A source told The Sun the couple are “prepared for the worst” as the show's future hangs in the balance due to budget cuts.
