Australian socialite and model Lindy Klim has confirmed she will not be marrying her partner, Paul Mullert, in a tropical Bali ceremony, despite previously hinting at a January wedding on the island.
Change of Plans for the Balinese Princess
The 46-year-old, who is the daughter of a Balinese royal, appeared to backtrack on her earlier comments during an event in Melbourne this week. Speaking at the Lana Wilkinson Summer '26 launch on Wednesday night, Klim clarified that no tropical nuptials are currently planned for the pair. The revelation comes just weeks after she seemingly let slip at December's Derby Day that she and Mullert would tie the knot in January.
When questioned about her previous wedding remarks, Klim side-stepped direct confirmation, stating, 'We're still in the early stages. Maybe, you know, we're happy to enjoy each other being in love.' However, she was definitive about one thing: the location.
Why Australia, Not Bali, is the Chosen Destination
Klim, who lived in Bali for 14 years before relocating to Australia with her four children earlier this year, expressed a strong preference for an Australian wedding. 'Definitely in Australia,' she stated. Explaining her decision, she referenced her complex relationship with the Indonesian island, her late father's homeland.
'Bali for me, I've kind of got some... not PTSD, but like, I had to leave. I don't know. The shine has been taken away for me,' Klim said. She also cited practical reasons, noting the island's overwhelming tourism and traffic. 'It's so busy as well. It got really ridiculous for tourists. Sitting in five hours of traffic is not my jam. Australia has been very kind to me.'
A Romance Blossoming in the Spotlight
Klim first went public with her relationship with Perth-born Mullert, a childhood friend of the late actor Heath Ledger, at the LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide in February. This was just months after her split from her second husband, Adam Ellis. She described Mullert at the time as a 'normal, nice guy' and said they were taking things slow.
The couple's connection was facilitated by Mullert's sister, who lives in Bali and suggested the pair meet. Klim has since gushed about her new partner, calling him a 'normal, beautiful person' who is 'full of love', and has highlighted how well their children get along.
While the exact date remains uncertain, it is clear that when Lindy Klim and Paul Mullert do decide to marry, the ceremony will be held on Australian soil, marking a new chapter for the socialite far from her former Balinese home.
