Katie Price's estranged husband Lee Andrews is reportedly out of prison after spending weeks locked up in Dubai's Al Awir jail. The former glamour model, 48, flew to the UAE last week to secure her husband's freedom but refused to pay the £140,000 bail required. Despite this, she said she wasn't going to just 'walk away' from the relationship, which began in January.
Release Confirmed
The Sun has reported that Lee is now free, with a friend telling the publication: 'Lee is out.' It remains unclear exactly why he was imprisoned, with his claims of 'espionage' denied by Dubai authorities, who described it as a 'private civil matter.'
Katie's Plans
Despite their rocky relationship, Katie is said to be looking forward to seeing her husband but intends to 'question' him herself. 'I cannot just walk away from my marriage without seeing him again,' she said, addressing pressure from friends and fans to end the marriage. Earlier, she told The Sun: 'He is coming out, I can't wait to see him, can't wait to have our chats.'
Lee, in his 40s, vanished from her life two months ago, with a baffled Katie claiming he had been kidnapped and tied up in a van. After weeks of silence, Lee's father facilitated a two-minute phone call, and the couple have reportedly been speaking regularly since. During those chats, the businessman allegedly bragged about befriending suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan, also held at Al Awir. Sources denied this, calling their interactions 'fleeting at most.'
An insider also claimed Lee boasted about being arrested during an 'arms deal' near the Abu Dhabi border. Katie flew to Dubai last week hoping to see him in person but was left looking frustrated by a pool, seemingly unable to reach him. The saga has left Katie needing 'some time to think' about the relationship, having married just days after meeting. 'I still cannot end things with Lee until I've spoken to him, but that was a lot,' she said.
When news of his release broke, Katie posted a reel promoting a CBD oil, saying she'd had a 'busy busy few days.'
