Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, has reportedly pleaded with his wife to help secure his release from prison in Dubai. Andrews is currently held in Al Awir prison, despite earlier claims that he would be freed last week. Initially, it was reported that a four-figure sum would secure his release, but the actual amount required is a staggering £140,000.
Lee Andrews asks Katie Price for GoFundMe help
Although Andrews claims to be a millionaire and potentially has access to such funds, he has turned to his wife for assistance. Katie Price has no intention of paying herself, but Andrews urged her to set up a GoFundMe campaign, hoping the public would contribute. However, during a phone call, Katie was blunt: 'No one will do that for you, Lee, trust me. Everyone hates you.'
Conditions inside Al Awir prison
Despite the harsh conditions known in Al Awir, Andrews has painted a different picture to his wife. He claims to have befriended Daniel Kinahan, a notorious alleged criminal arrested in Dubai after a joint operation. Andrews told Katie that he shared dinner and breakfast with Kinahan, describing him as 'all right, actually'. He also claims they speak Gaelic to avoid prison guards intercepting their conversations.
Katie Price hints at marriage end
Katie Price continues to express love for her husband but has hinted the marriage may be over. She said: 'I need answers, and if I don't like the answers, I'll be gone.' She added: 'I'm 48. I don't need to waste my time. There is no way he would mess with me. I'm not a mug.' During a performance at Canterbury Pride, she asked the crowd: 'Do I leave Lee or stay with him?' prompting a large cheer.
