Love Island star Adam Collard has issued an update after his fiancée, sports presenter Laura Woods, collapsed live on ITV during coverage of England's friendly against Ghana. The incident occurred at St Mary's Stadium in Southampton, with pundit Ian Wright quickly catching her as broadcasters cut to a commercial break.
Adam, 30, wrote on social media: "Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages" alongside a white heart emoji. ITV later confirmed Woods is "doing OK."
Fellow presenter Katie Shanahan took over the broadcast, telling viewers: "As you have probably noticed, we don't have the wonderful Laura Woods because she's just been taken ill. She's in very good hands, so I'm stepping in at late notice."
Fans sent their support online, with one commenting: "Really hope Laura Woods is okay. Fair play to Ian Wright and Anita Asante for catching her. Fair play to the stand-in presenter who stepped in, some effort that."
Laura and Adam have been together since 2023 and welcomed their first child, a son named Leo, in January. Earlier this year, Laura opened up about a miscarriage she suffered, describing "very awful times" but praising Adam for supporting her.
Laura has risen through sports broadcasting, appearing on Sky Sports, TalkSport, ITV, and TNT Sports. She returned to screens after giving birth to host the Champions League semi-final for TNT.
