Yamal and García met on social media, according to the influencer. In an interview with Hola! magazine, García explained that people began noticing the pair together during their trip to Greece in April 2026, but said they had known one another for considerably longer.
“Not quite three years, but a good deal more months than people realise, even now,” she told the publication.
She also explained that their relationship developed gradually, with the pair spending a long time talking before meeting in person. The couple were subsequently seen together during Spain's 2026 World Cup campaign, with García supporting the footballer from the stands.

Yamal is among the nominees for the men's Ballon d'Or and the men's Young Talent of the Year award. It is not yet confirmed whether García will attend the ceremony alongside him.
