Katy Perry is reportedly set to disclose details about her marriage to Russell Brand in an upcoming book and docuseries, according to reports.
Convicted rapist Brand is due to receive a potentially lengthy prison sentence on Monday after he was found guilty of raping one of his fans and sexually assaulting three women on Thursday (Nov 5).
Perry in Active Discussions for Tell-All
According to the Mail on Sunday, sources close to Perry say the US star was awaiting the outcome of Brand's trial before finalising a deal. However, the A-list performer has reportedly been in 'active discussions' to share her perspective on their marriage, which ended in 2011.
The source said: "Katy has received multiple offers over the years to tell her story but would not consider anything until after the trial. She has a lot to say. At the moment she's considering a Netflix-type series and an autobiography."
"She and her team have been in active discussions. There is a lot about that marriage which people don't know. It was a very dark period in her life."
Reports suggest that her team have been in contact with streaming platforms including Netflix and Hulu, the Mirror reports.
Perry's Past Comments and Brand's Sentencing
The star previously told fans that she believed her ex 'should be in jail.' During the opening night of the popstar's Out of Office UK tour in July this year, she reflected on her turbulent romantic history during an electric headline performance.
Perry, 41, told fans at the 10,000-capacity venue: "I hope my ex isn't here, he should be in jail."
As Brand awaits sentencing, fellow inmates at Wandsworth Prison are reportedly banned from communicating with the convicted star following his transfer there.
BBC and PM Respond to Conviction
The BBC has also spoken out, stating "there can be no place for the abuse of power" while reiterating its public apology in the aftermath of Brand's conviction.
A spokesperson said: "Firstly, the thoughts of everyone at the BBC are with the brave women who came forward and told their stories which led to a conviction in this case. There can be no place for the abuse of power.
"Across the industry, we must work together to ensure that anyone who suffers at someone else's hand feels able to report it, that their concerns are taken seriously and that they are listened to. We published a detailed report in January 2025 into how complaints about Russell Brand's conduct were handled.
"This looked at eight allegations of misconduct while he worked here between 2006 and 2008. It was of great concern to us that some people felt unable to raise concerns about Brand's behaviour.
"We apologised to those impacted, for both the culture and failings at the time, and we reiterate that apology again today."
Prime Minister Andy Burnham also weighed in on the matter, saying of Brand: "His crimes are horrific. He's rightly been held to account, justice for the victims and that is the right course that's been taken here.
"It's not always the case that people know everything about people in public life, but what is important is that where there is wrongdoing, it is exposed.
"And as I say again, credit to the victims, huge credit, the courage that it's taken, but also the journalists who have exposed this."
