Katie Price has defiantly stood by her husband Lee Andrews despite his lies and alleged cons being exposed in recent months. Now, the former glamour model has revealed what will be her final straw in their whirlwind marriage.
The 48-year-old reality star married Lee Andrews in Dubai in January, just days after meeting him and accepting his lavish proposal. Her family and friends have repeatedly warned her about Lee, who has been branded a 'swindler,' a 'liar,' and a 'narcissist' by his ex-girlfriends, who also claim he stole thousands of pounds from them.
Lee, who calls himself a multimillionaire, has denied any criminal activity. However, suspicions grew on May 13 when he disappeared, leaving Katie to fear he had been kidnapped. After weeks of no contact, it emerged that Lee had been arrested and was being held at Dubai's Al Awir prison.
Earlier this week, Katie flew from England to visit him. While she only spoke to him on the phone, she has now admitted she is prepared to walk away from her marriage. In an interview with The Sun, she said: 'I've had a tough few weeks, but I've still stayed strong. I'm doing what I want to do, and I'm here to help Lee.'
She acknowledged that 'some people might not like my choices,' but insisted she is 'not living for everyone else.' She added: 'I know people have been calling me stupid. I see the trolling; I hear it. I am not stupid.'
Katie said she has been 'taking notes' but feels 'protected' against Lee's potential scams because the 'nation is looking out for me.' Still, she wants answers. 'I'm not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. If the answers are not right, that will be it: I'll be done. I'll just get on with my life and not find a man on Instagram and message him.'
Lee must pay a £140,000 fee for his release, a sum Katie will not pay. Initially, officials told her she needed to pay £6,500 for his release, but she later learned of a third case requiring a six-figure sum. Katie draws the line there.
Katie also reflected on meeting Lee's ex, Dina Taji, who warned her after Lee allegedly forged her signature to take out a £200,000 mortgage. Upon being reported, Lee was arrested and spent time in prison last autumn. After release, he was slapped with a travel ban, which Katie has now confirmed.
Meeting Dina 'opened my eyes,' Katie said after spending six hours examining the evidence. 'I still cannot end things with Lee until I've spoken to him, but that was a lot.'
The saga has been a whirlwind for fans, as Katie continues professing her love for Lee on social media while sources claim she is looking to move on. 'Katie is in pieces. To the outside world, she wants to keep up the bravado. But inside, she can't believe how Lee has made her look,' one source told the Daily Mail.
Katie added: 'But right now, I'm sticking up for myself. He's got a side of the story, so have these women. I cannot just walk away from my marriage without seeing him again. He is, surely, entitled to his say?'
