Katie Price Slammed for Promoting CBD Amid Husband's Disappearance
Katie Price Criticised for CBD Ad During Husband's Disappearance

Katie Price has been heavily criticised for posting a paid advertisement on social media while discussing the ongoing disappearance of her husband, Lee Andrews. The former glamour model, who has been vocal about the stress caused by her partner's absence, promoted CBD products to her followers, claiming they helped her relax and reduce anxiety.

Lee Andrews Missing Since Mid-May

Lee Andrews has been missing for almost two weeks. Katie Price last spoke to him on Wednesday, May 13, via a FaceTime call during which he claimed he was being held and his hands had been tied. His story has drawn comparisons to that of British grandfather Albert Douglas, who was arrested in Dubai in 2019 for financial fraud related to a failed cheque.

Despite initially stating she would take a step back from public life, Katie Price has continued to address Lee's disappearance on her Instagram page. In a recent paid promotion for CBD gummies, she said: "Hey everyone, just giving you a little update. I'm feeling a lot better today, a lot calmer, I think all this CBD and gummies that I've been taking and in the day and at night, I'm actually feeling a lot, lot calmer."

She added: "Thank God, anyone out there who suffers anxiety, can't sleep and your brain is going nuts, too many things going on, and anxious, I'm telling you now, this CBD works, I've been taking it and you all know how stressful things are for me at the moment."

Social Media Backlash

Fans and followers were quick to criticise the post. One user wrote: "I just can't believe the company are sponsoring this?! It's actually shocking." Another commented: "I try to support you, Katie... But really the constant selling and promotion with everything else going on in life. But think you need to re-group... I love you and honestly feel your pain. But leave it a while! Concentrate on you and family and not CBD!"

A third follower fumed: "It's actually putting me off buying now," while another added: "Can you stop pushing your CBD!" However, some fans defended her decision, with one writing: "Iconic selling CBD while you're life is in crisis [sic]."

Twist in the Case

Despite Lee being missing for nearly two weeks and Katie having filed a Missing Persons Report, a new twist has emerged. Lee had followed an American "biker babe" on Instagram named Mari Sol, who has since reportedly blocked him. His phone is now active, and WhatsApp messages to him are being delivered, showing two grey ticks.

Lee's father has also disputed claims of a kidnapping, suggesting that Lee was actually arrested in Dubai, which is why he was unreachable. However, Katie later dismissed this as "fake news", insisting her husband is still missing and that she is working with authorities.

The Mirror has approached Katie's spokesperson for comment on the matter.
