Kate Hudson's Son Ryder Towers Over Her at Time100 Gala

Kate Hudson made a striking appearance at the Time100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, accompanied by her eldest son, Ryder Robinson. The 22-year-old, who rarely walks red carpets, joined his mother at the event where she was honoured in the 'Icons' category for being one of the 'most influential people' of the year.

Ryder, who towers over the actress, posed for photos with her inside the venue after she walked the red carpet alone. Both wore black: Ryder in a classic jacket and trousers with a white shirt, and Kate in a midi dress with cape-like sleeves and a plunging neckline, accessorised with a gold brooch, bracelets, and sheer tights.

Ryder, a student at New York University, is set to graduate in May and hopes to pursue acting, following in his mother's footsteps. Kate revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he is 'really focusing on college' and is dedicated to the craft. He has already appeared in Netflix's Running Point alongside his mother and in the short film Sweet Tooth.

Aside from acting, Ryder enjoys designing furniture and playing guitar in the alternative rock band The Codependence. Kate, who welcomed Ryder at age 24 with ex-husband Chris Robinson, also has two other children: Bingham and Rani Rose.
