Jessica Biel Warns Against Viral 'Jessica' Parenting Trend

Jessica Biel has expressed concerns over the viral 'Jessica' parenting hack that has taken social media by storm. In a TikTok video posted on Friday, the actress reacted to the trend where parents call out the name 'Jessica' to distract toddlers during tantrums.

Biel, who shares two sons with husband Justin Timberlake, said she is 'not really sure' how she feels about the trend. 'I feel like half the kids in these videos look petrified,' she noted, adding that the children appear 'terrified and hopeful that Jessica is not gonna show up.'

The 44-year-old urged parents not to make toddlers afraid of people named Jessica, saying, 'We're good people. We're nice people. We wanna help you with the tantrum, but we don't wanna scare the s*** out of your kid.' She also revealed that the trick does not work with her own sons, who simply question why she is yelling her own name.

The trend went viral earlier this month, with parents documenting their success. In one clip, a toddler stopped crying after his father pretended to call for 'Jessica'. The video has amassed over 19 million views on TikTok.

Biel, who previously commented on the trend on Instagram Stories, concluded that she is 'conflicted' and asked followers for their opinions on the matter.
