Stacey Solomon's Sister Jemma Closes Business to Become Full-Time Influencer
Jemma Solomon Closes Business to Become Influencer

Jemma Solomon, the 37-year-old sister of television presenter Stacey Solomon, has made a significant career announcement, revealing plans to become a full-time influencer after closing her business. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Jemma reintroduced herself to followers and disclosed that she had shut down her home-organisation company, The Label Lady, following a six-year run.

A Business Built from Scratch

The decision to close the firm comes months after Jemma indicated that 2026 would be their most challenging financial year. She founded The Label Lady in 2020 after her husband Lee lost his job as a tradesman, prompting her to leave nursing and launch a custom label business from their family playroom. Remarkably, the venture grew into a six-figure enterprise.

Jemma's entrepreneurial journey included securing backing from business magnate Lord Alan Sugar, who invested in the company and became a director in 2021. However, Companies House filings showed a decline in the firm's net assets over three consecutive years, with cash reserves reportedly dropping from £630,000 to £342,000 by December.

Following in Famous Footsteps

Jemma's new direction mirrors the career of her sister Stacey, 36, who presents BBC's Sort Your Life Out and is estimated to be worth £7.3 million, partly due to representation by talent agency YMU. Despite this parallel path, Jemma insists there is no competition between the siblings.

"People often compare us to each other, pit us against each other but the truth is we're 18 months apart, have very similar interests and the most wholesome relationship that means we lift each other up and both help each other to achieve our dreams," Jemma wrote.

Embracing a New Chapter

In her heartfelt Instagram post, Jemma explained that 2026 is about "finding me again," expressing a desire to return to personal joys like baking and over-decorating for her children's birthdays. She emphasised that she has "never been 'just a mum'" and plans to continue working with brands and affiliates, which allows her to be at home with her children.

Reflecting on her business achievements, Jemma noted that The Label Lady fulfilled over 300,000 orders, with her labels reaching hundreds of thousands of homes worldwide. She described the experience as living out a dream, thanking her family, team, and customers for their support.

Overcoming Challenges

Jemma acknowledged the difficulties faced by small businesses, stating earlier this year, "It's the hardest time right now for small businesses. This is going to be my biggest struggle of a year." She added, "I don't necessarily have it in me to be a multi-billion-pound corporation business. It's actually really tricky, really tough."

Despite these challenges, Jemma remains proud of her accomplishments, writing, "Just because I’m saying goodbye doesn’t mean it was a failure. Sometimes it’s just time, and THAT’S OK!" She highlighted positive experiences, including a brand trip to Palm Springs with Amazon alongside her sister Stacey.

Jemma also shared personal battles, including dealing with anxiety and being skinny-shamed by trolls, but affirmed that these have never stopped her. She concluded her announcement by promising to explain her future plans in more detail soon, signing off as "Jemma aka The Label Lady."
