James Whale Says 'I'm Happy to Die' Amid Terminal Cancer Battle

TalkTV presenter James Whale, 74, has issued a heartbreaking update on his stage four kidney cancer, admitting that things have become 'very very difficult'. Speaking on his show James Whale Unleashed alongside co-host Ash Gould, the veteran broadcaster confessed he is in the final stages of his illness.

During a conversation with a guest who had lost her husband to cancer, Whale said: 'Until very recently, everything was quite normal for me, everything was fine, and then you do get to a stage like I am now, where things get to be very very difficult.' He added: 'To anybody else who is in the final stages of cancer, you have my sympathy. I know exactly what you're going through.'

Whale first revealed in May that his condition had worsened and that treatment was no longer an option. He told viewers he would be 'lucky to make it to Christmas'. Despite his declining health, he has continued to present his show, joking that the medication leaves him 'all over the place'.
