Welsh actor Ian Puleston-Davies is set to return to Coronation Street as Owen Armstrong after more than a decade away from the ITV soap.
The 67-year-old will reprise his role as the no-nonsense builder nearly 11 years after Owen left Weatherfield following the breakdown of his relationship with Anna Windass and the collapse of his business, which was partly caused by Pat Phelan.
Owen's Dramatic Return
Owen's return to the cobbles will see him move in with his daughter Izzy and grandson Jake, making it clear that he blames Gary Windass for his family's misfortune.
Puleston-Davies said: "I can't wait to pick up where I left off 10 years ago."
"It's brilliant to be back and to get stuck into a cracking storyline. Owen's back and he's still angry!"
Filming and Screen Return
Puleston-Davies will begin filming Owen's return next week, with the character set to appear on screens in January.
Since leaving Coronation Street, Puleston-Davies has appeared in dramas including Pennyworth, Tin Star and After The Flood.
Producer's Reaction
Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks said: "We're thrilled that Ian is back, and Owen brings a ton of drama."
"As he joins forces with an unlikely alliance, he wreaks havoc on the Street, and his relationship with Gary is severely put to the test."
"Needless to say, there's never a dull moment when Owen's around."
