Helen Flanagan has expressed concerns that her forthcoming memoir might have been too candid, possibly deterring her ideal life partner. The former Coronation Street star, who has been single for four years since her split from footballer Scott Sinclair, is determined that her next relationship will lead to marriage.
Helen Flanagan's Quest for a Life Partner
The 35-year-old mother of three, who recently appeared on Celebrity Ex On The Beach, shared her hopes for a lasting relationship. 'I do feel that when I do next have my next relationship, and I think that when I have my next relationship, I think it will be my husband,' she said.
Speaking to interviewer Lewis Nicholls, she added: 'I think it will be the real thing. I will choose to protect it and I will keep that private. I will probably say who that person is, but I will want to protect it. I will want to keep it private.'
She elaborated: 'I'll want to keep it really special, because I kind of feel like everybody's always got something to say. My next relationship I have I think will be my husband, because I won't be wasting my time, really. I will want to choose to protect it, definitely.'
Worries About Her Book's Honesty
However, Helen worries that her memoir, Head and Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie, may have revealed too much. 'I think it's a difficult one because sometimes you can choose, sometimes I do find it difficult, but then again I have spoke about things, so you have to find a way to deal with it,' she explained.
'I've got friends that are actors and actresses, and they have already chose to be more private about things. I have spoke about things, like I wrote a book. I don't know, maybe if I was too honest in my book a little bit, but it's done now. It's written. The book is there, so there's no taking it back. I was actually talking about mental health, and wanted to give context to it.'
Background and Recent Events
Helen and Scott, who were together for 13 years, share three children. Earlier this year, reports emerged that Scott was compelling her and their children to vacate their six-bedroom property near Bolton. During a trip to Scotland, she posted a cryptic message: 'No weapon used against me shall prosper. Love wins. I found this spot at Loch Lomond in lockdown and it's just special to me.'
She added: 'I don't know why but I suppose we all take comfort in things and if it makes sense to us then that's enough and every time I go to Scotland I go there.' The pair are now understood to be communicating through family members.
