While Scarlett Moffatt has cemented her status as a national treasure since finding fame on Gogglebox, her younger sister has taken a strikingly different path in life. Ava-Grace Moffatt, who briefly appeared on the hit Channel 4 show as a child, has now turned 18 and is pursuing academia over a career in the spotlight.
From Gogglebox Child Star to University Scholar
Scarlett Moffatt, now 35, shot to fame over a decade ago alongside her family on the sofa-based series. Her career skyrocketed just two years later when she won I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, becoming Queen of the Jungle. This led to regular slots on shows like Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and CelebAbility, as well as pantomime roles.
Fans with long memories will recall that Scarlett's little sister, Ava-Grace, also featured on Gogglebox when she was just eight years old. However, unlike her sister, she has not pursued a life in television. In 2024, Scarlett shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram to mark her sister's 18th birthday, revealing Ava-Grace's plans to study archaeology at university.
A Sisterly Bond Despite The Age Gap
In her emotional social media post, Scarlett marvelled at the close relationship she shares with Ava-Grace, despite the 15-year age gap between them. She was 15 when her sister was born. "I could only have dreamed for how close we are," Scarlett wrote.
She praised Ava-Grace for growing into an "amazingly kind, intelligent, beautiful, bloody hilarious lady" and encouraged her to stay true to herself, complete with her quirky jewellery choices like goldfish or fried egg earrings. Scarlett also humorously noted she was "buzzing" that her sister could now join her for adult brunches.
Scarlett's Triumphant Return to Dance
The update on Ava-Grace comes as Scarlett herself recently enjoyed a major television triumph. She won the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special with professional partner Vito Coppola, scoring a perfect 40 for their Cha Cha to Cher's 'DJ Play A Christmas Song'.
Speaking to the Mirror beforehand, Scarlett expressed her delight at being paired with Vito, whom she had specifically hoped for. The win was a poignant full-circle moment for the star, who was a champion competitive dancer in her youth. She was crowned British Ballroom Champion at 16 and trained under Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.
Scarlett, who shares a two-year-old son, Jude, with fiancé Scott Dobinson, said the experience "reignited the fire" for dance inside her. She acknowledged that her past dance experience likely precluded a spot on the main series, making the Christmas special "a true bucket-list moment".
The special also featured performances from comedian Babatunde Aléshé, singer Brian McFadden, Gladiators star Jodie Ounsley, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, and EastEnders actor Nicholas Bailey.
