Fitness Influencer Died After Injecting Gold for Superpowers

Connor Murphy, a 32-year-old fitness influencer and looksmaxxer, died on July 8 after injecting liquid gold in the belief it would grant him superpowers. He drowned in a lake in Banh Phil, Thailand, while fleeing police during a naked rampage.

Incident Details

Police responded to reports of screaming at a luxury rental home early on July 8. They found Murphy behaving erratically and running naked. According to Thai authorities, he entered a lake to escape officers and drowned. His body was recovered by divers after 30 minutes of searching.

Alleged Gold Injections

Friends reported that Murphy was an avid biohacker who believed in the mystical powers of gold. YouTuber Androgenic stated, “He started to believe that gold was some gatekept mineral by the higher-ups that basically gives you special powers if you ingest it.” After reading a debunked study claiming gold increases IQ, Murphy began injecting gold. Androgenic added, “Over the past few weeks, he had just descended into complete madness... He was covered in discoloration from gold poisoning.”
