Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid couldn't help but poke fun at colleague Ed Balls after he vanished from the studio during a commercial break on Tuesday's broadcast. The 59-year-old former politician made a frantic dash back to the set, admitting he had misjudged the distance to the restroom.
Susanna Reid Left Holding the Fort
When cameras returned from the advertising interval, Susanna, 55, was heard asking: "Where's he gone?" before adding: "Still to come on Good Morning Britain, we're talking about who is better at multitasking and Ed Balls has left the studio. So I think I'll take that as a win. Now apparently, we're equal according to a new study but add a conversation into juggling jobs, men are more likely to switch off. Let us know, let us know what you think."
Ed Balls Explains His Absence
A harried Ed then hurried back into the studio to rejoin Susanna, revealing he had nipped to the loo, quipping it was practically located in Clapham, during the advert break but it proved significantly farther than expected. Susanna grabbed the chance to rib her co-host, quipping: "Do you mean you can't multitask by going and having a comfort break and presenting at the same time?"
Ed Balls' Journey on GMB
Ed initially joined Good Morning Britain in 2021 as a guest host before securing a permanent rotating presenter role alongside Susanna in 2022. The former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer is wed to Yvette Cooper, who serves as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom.
Susanna Reid's Long-Standing Role
Susanna has been a mainstay on Good Morning Britain since the show first launched in 2014. Throughout the years, notable presenters including Piers Morgan and Ben Shephard have departed the ITV programme to explore other ventures.
The GMB Presenting Team
