Katie Alexander, the girlfriend of TV presenter Eamonn Holmes, has posted an Instagram tribute to men who are "masking pain with a smile" as the star continues his recovery from a stroke.
Katie, 44, shared a graphic marking Men's Health Month, which featured six blue hearts and read: "November is Men's Health Month, we're sending love to those who are: afraid to be vulnerable; feeling unseen or unsupported; masking pain with a smile; experiencing suicidal ideation; struggling with boy image issues; healing from trauma."
Holmes' health struggles
Eamonn, 66, has largely stayed out of the limelight since being hospitalised in April due to a stroke. His health battle goes back years, including hip surgery in 2016, a fall down the stairs that fractured his shoulder, a painful infection, severe spinal issues leading to bladder and bowel problems, and a nine-day hospital stay. He suffered another fall in 2022, and two further falls in 2025, one of which happened live on air when a chair gave way.
His stroke required hospital treatment, to which he was "responding well to", according to a statement from his employer GB News. The spokesperson added: "Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better. His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the people's channel when he is ready to return."
Family and girlfriend's support
Amid his health battle, his ex-wives Gabrielle Holmes and Ruth Langsford are reported to have joined forces to support him, with reports suggesting they are "clubbing together and rallying around with the kids to protect Eamonn".
Last month, Katie made a cryptic remark about "protecting your energy" and "knowing your worth" after reports surfaced she had moved out of the £1.3 million flat they shared in Surrey. Posting from a beach, she wrote: "There is a quiet kind of strength in becoming comfortable with who you are. No longer needing to prove, explain or seek validation – just choosing peace, protecting your energy and finding beauty in the life you're creating." She signed off: "Softness is strength. Peace is luxury. And knowing your worth changes everything. Starting with yourself."
