Denise Welch became emotional on Thursday's episode of Loose Women as she revealed her father is currently 'really poorly' in hospital. The 62-year-old actress and panellist broke down in tears while discussing the challenges faced by elderly people during lockdown.
The conversation turned to a photograph of an older man struggling to order a drink in a pub due to app-based ordering. Welch related this to her father's difficulties, stating: 'Now my dad, who has really struggled in lockdown like many, many people, he's such a social person, and has been really, really poorly, and as his health has declined over this last year.'
Fighting back tears, Welch added: 'My dad actually is in hospital in Newcastle and I just want to say, love you dad.' She apologised to her co-hosts as she wiped her eyes. The panel, which included Kaye Adams, Jane Moore and Judi Love, also discussed the travel traffic light system and holiday plans.
