Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has shared an update four months after undergoing a hair transplant earlier this year, his third in several years. The actor, famed for playing David Platt in the Salford-based ITV soap, posted a video to his Instagram page showing his hair growth progress.
Previous procedures and motivation
When Jack previously underwent the procedure, he said at the time that as an actor, it was 'vital' that he had a full head of hair, and added that the stress of 'hurtful' comments from people on social media led him to take action.
In June, Jack debuted his shaved head as he underwent his third hair transplant. The procedure came after he took some time away from his famous role to prepare for the arrival of his first child with his wife, Hanni Treweek.
Personal milestones and podcast comments
The couple, who married at Manchester Cathedral last summer, welcomed a little girl, Constance, in June, after announcing the pregnancy on Valentine's Day in February.
Speaking on the On the Sofa podcast, which he co-hosts with Corrie co-star Ben Price and former soap star Colson Smith, Jack said at the time: "This is my third one. So most people are thinking, I thought you'd just get one air transplant and then it's Elvis.
"But that's not the case, apparently, because baldness still progresses as time goes on. So I had one in 2018, 2019 and now. So I've had it all done mainly on the front and sections."

Months on from undergoing the procedure, Jack offered an update. In the video, he ran his hands through his growing tresses as he said: "It's been just over four months... They expect it to be up to full growth at about six months so in a couple of months, December time, we should Cousin Itt!"
As he laughed, he added: "Elvis!" then commented: "But yeah, look at that! It's going good, isn't it?" Captioning the post, Jack wrote: "Getting there…" before the comments came flooding in.
