Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has provided a health update two months after undergoing major knee surgery. The 41-year-old, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap, shared a clip of himself working through rehabilitation exercises on Instagram, captioning it: 'ACL rehab, 12 weeks, on track'.
Halsall underwent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery in November, which he described as having gone 'really well'. He noted that recovery could take between nine and 12 months. The surgery involves replacing the torn ligament with a tendon from another part of the leg.
Since the operation, Halsall has returned to filming on Coronation Street. He posted a photo with his onscreen family, writing: 'Family is the heart of the home. So happy to be Together again & back to work'. His co-star Claire Sweeney, who plays his on-screen mother Cassie, commented: 'This is great news, glad it was a success'.
Halsall's character Tyrone has been involved in dramatic storylines recently, including the return of his long-lost mother Cassie, played by Claire Sweeney. Tyrone had believed his mother was dead from a drug overdose, but she reappeared in Weatherfield claiming to be clean.
