Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry's former girlfriend, has shared a rare family photograph with her social media followers. The Zimbabwean businesswoman, 41, posted a picture of herself with her children as they celebrated Halloween in Mauritius, where she has relocated with her husband and three children.
Halloween celebrations in Mauritius
In the photograph, Chelsy wore a brown witch's hat, sunglasses and a summer dress while carrying her three-year-old daughter, Chloe, who appeared to be dressed as a unicorn. Her four-year-old son, Leo, also joined in the festivities, sporting a superhero costume. Chelsy accompanied the picture with a simple two-word message: "Happy Halloween," alongside a pumpkin emoji.
Chelsy also shared footage of the children enjoying trick-or-treating with a Mauritian twist. Rather than walking between houses, the little ones went trick-or-treating by kayak, guided by their father, Sam, who wore a colourful wig and a rockstar-style jacket.
Family life away from the spotlight
The owner and founder of the jewellery brand Aya and travel agency Aya Africa has largely kept her family life away from the spotlight. She shares three children with her husband, Sam Cutmore-Scott, whom she married in a private ceremony in Mauritius in 2022. Their family also includes their youngest son, Finn.
Earlier this month, Chelsy celebrated 10 years of her jewellery brand and wrote a rare personal essay to mark the occasion. She wrote: "I turn 41 next week. When I started Aya, I was turning 31. It seems a good moment to look back, partly because Aya has changed enormously in those ten years, but also because I have."
Reflections on the past decade
Looking back at her life 10 years ago, she said: "Looking back, I’m not entirely sure I appreciated what starting a business meant. I just did it." She added: "Perhaps that’s because, back then, commitment wasn’t exactly my strong suit. If I’m completely honest, the only thing I was committed to was having fun."
She described her earlier lifestyle: "I wanted the next trip, the next adventure, the next group of people I hadn’t met yet. I lived in Istanbul. I travelled around South America. I went to Bali, the Amazon, Moscow. I wasn’t remotely interested in staying in one place, following a conventional career path or committing to anything that might interfere with whatever sounded most exciting."
Chelsy revealed that marriage and motherhood had not always featured in her future plans, explaining that she had previously prioritised freedom, travel and enjoying life. She met Sam during the Covid pandemic, when she was 35, following years of travelling and embracing an independent lifestyle. Meeting Sam changed her perspective, and she realised she wanted to build a family with him.
Chelsy and Sam's connection to Mauritius grew during the pandemic when they found themselves spending an extended period on the island while visiting her parents. She dated the Duke of Sussex on and off between 2004 and 2011. Despite eventually going their separate ways, the pair remained on friendly terms, and Chelsy attended Prince Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle in May 2018 at St George's Chapel.
