Charlotte Crosby Reveals Intimate Details on Motherhood and Relationship
In an exclusive interview, Charlotte Crosby, the 35-year-old television personality and mother to daughters Alba and Pixi, has opened up about the profound challenges and joys of her first year as a mum-of-two. The former Geordie Shore star, known for her candid nature, shared insights into her personal life with fiancé Jake Ankers, including a 'rocky period' they endured shortly after the birth of their second child.
Navigating the Demands of Parenthood and Career
Crosby, who balances running her own business with parenting and home renovations, admitted that the transition to two children was far more difficult than anticipated. "It was harder than we ever imagined," she confessed, laughing. "We found one child so easy – like such a walk in the park that we thought the second was going to be the same. I don't know why! We've both got demanding jobs – Jake's got his own business, I've got multiple things going on and it was just hard. But we're in the flow now. Everything's fine because we're used to it. But at first, it was a shock to the system."
She highlighted the support from her mother, Letitia, as a crucial factor in managing the hectic schedule, expressing gratitude for the help with childcare.
Romance Amidst the Chaos
Discussing her relationship with Ankers, also 35, Crosby revealed that keeping romance alive has been a conscious effort. "I think the biggest thing is, everyone just puts so much pressure on themselves, and then it makes it weird and awkward," she said. "But if you just look at each other and think, 'We're raising two really small children, they're going to be in our beds, we'll never get this part of our life back. Let's just accept it.'"
The couple prioritises monthly date nights and occasional getaways, such as visits to a spa hotel or their villa in Spain, to carve out alone time. However, Crosby admitted that a recent holiday over Christmas saw no intimate moments due to shared accommodations, emphasising the practical realities of family life.
A 'Rocky Period' and Strengthened Bond
Crosby candidly addressed a challenging phase in their relationship, occurring in the first six weeks after Pixi's birth when Ankers had to work away from home. "We felt like we were at each other's throats – as you would," she explained. "We'd just had a baby, I was tired, he was tired. He wasn't home. That was a rocky period, I would say."
Despite this, she gushed about Ankers' unwavering support, describing him as "gold in male form" and praising his domestic contributions. "He cleans the house, he does the dishes, does all the clothes washing. I'd never find another. He looks after us, picks us up, drives us around. I don't drive, I'm a passenger princess!" She added, "This man treats me like a queen and I love him to the world and back. So no, regardless of any rocky patch, I'll never let go of him and what we've got because it's something I've never felt in my whole entire life."
Wedding Plans on Hold for Financial Reasons
Although Ankers proposed in 2022 on a Dubai rooftop, Crosby revealed that marriage is not a priority at the moment. "I really don't give a f**k about getting married any time soon," she stated bluntly. "I see it as a huge financial drain and I like to invest my money into things that give long-term gain. I look at how much a wedding costs and I'm like, 'OK I could have really made a lot of money instead of just blowing it.'"
She envisions a lavish ceremony in her forties, complete with performances by artists like Olivia Dean and private jets, believing that decade will be the prime of her life. "I'll have had my babies, they'll have grown up a bit, I'll be able to pour more energy into myself," she said, giggling. "I'll just be so fit and thriving and healthy. I might even have abs!"
New Ventures and Personal Growth
Amidst her personal reflections, Crosby is also embracing new professional opportunities. She recently participated in the YouTube series Celebs with Tools, where she tackled DIY challenges alongside other celebrities. "It was so much fun," she enthused. "I was so excited because I'm so into my interiors. I'm currently renovating my house at the minute so it was right up my street. I've never been able to put up a flat-pack piece of furniture in my entire life. Now I own a toolbox and I reckon I could assemble just about anything."
For now, Crosby is focused on family milestones, such as planning Pixi's first birthday party, and cherishing the stability she has found with Ankers. Her story offers a raw and relatable glimpse into the complexities of modern motherhood, romance, and personal ambition.
