Catherine Zeta-Jones has been awarded the honorary freedom of the City and County of Swansea, marking the city's 50th anniversary. The Hollywood star, who was born in Swansea, attended a ceremony where she signed autographs and posed for photographs with her family.
Speaking at the event, Zeta-Jones said she felt recognised by those who had supported her from the beginning of her career. The honour is one of the highest a city can bestow, and it recognises her contributions to the arts and her connection to her hometown.
The ceremony was part of a series of events celebrating Swansea's golden jubilee as a city. Zeta-Jones joins a list of notable figures who have received the freedom of the city, including singer Katherine Jenkins and former footballer John Hartson.
