David Beckham was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, but his eldest son Brooklyn was notably absent, deepening the family rift.
Family Support for David Beckham
The football legend, 51, received the 2,849th star on Hollywood Boulevard, surrounded by his wife Victoria and children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. Celebrity friends including Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, and Robbie Keane also attended.
However, Brooklyn, 27, was nowhere to be seen, despite the ceremony being close to his Los Angeles home. This absence continues a pattern of snubbing family events since he dramatically cut ties in January.
David Beckham's Reaction
Speaking to Variety, David said he felt "very lucky" about the honor, adding: "All I wanted to be was a successful soccer player for Manchester United and England." He declined to discuss the rift, calling it "a private matter."
Background of the Rift
Brooklyn severed ties with his family in a scathing social media post, claiming 'Brand Beckham' was more important than family members. He also accused his mother Victoria of ruining his wedding to Nicola Peltz.
Victoria later broke her silence without naming Brooklyn, insisting: "When David and I first met, it was never our intention to start a brand."
