Brooklyn Beckham hits back at 'haters' over pumpkin meal

Brooklyn Beckham has responded to critics on social media after sharing an unconventional Halloween meal that divided his followers. The 27-year-old chef posted a video of himself cooking a roast chicken inside a pumpkin, and his comments section quickly filled with criticism.

The video, uploaded on Halloween, showed Brooklyn hollowing out a pumpkin and placing a large piece of raw chicken inside it. He added a thick coating of gravy to complete the dish, with no other seasoning. He captioned the post: “Happy Halloween xx [pumpkin emoji].” In the comments, he added: “Haters coming in 3. 2. 1.”

Followers Unimpressed With the Dish

As Brooklyn anticipated, his 16.2 million followers were not impressed. Many shared their critiques of the meal. @apracing30 asked: “What was the point in putting it in the pumpkin to take it out and cook it on a tray?” @lesrimm commented: “The gravy…… 100 northerners just died witnessing that.”

@charlotty21 wrote: “Never mind the waste of a good pumpkin, what's with the treacle thick bisto??” @jaebrewski posted: “I can't defend you on this one, Brooklyn.” @mikedoesmarketing commented: “What’s the benefit of putting it in the pumpkin when you end up baking it on the tray anyway?” @karlizad1317 argued: “There will always be haters as long as jealously exists. Keep being you x.”

Recent Family Fallout

Brooklyn has been more vocal about discussing his critics in recent months amid his fall out with his parents David and Victoria Beckham. He married Nicola, 31, in Florida back in 2022. Nicola is the daughter of American billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz.

Brooklyn has not been seen with his parents since issuing an explosive statement on social media in January. He claimed they tried to ‘ruin’ his relationship with Nicola, saying he does not want to ‘reconcile’ with his family. He also alleged that Victoria ‘danced very inappropriately’ after ‘hijacking’ his first dance with Nicola at their wedding, saying the moment left him feeling ‘uncomfortable and humiliating’.

Tribute to Wife Nicola

Last week, Brooklyn shared a glowing tribute to his wife on social media, marking seven years since their first date. He wrote: “My beautiful Nicola, you mean absolutely everything to me. You’re my whole world, my best friend, and the most important person in my life. I’m so lucky I get to love you and spend forever by your side. I love you more than words could ever explain.”

Taking aim at his critics in another post about his wife, Brooklyn, who included a middle finger emoji, said: "Yes I am obsessed with my wife bring on the comments I don't care she's perfect."
