Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards has made a shocking confession about a recent health scare that left medical professionals warning her she was at serious risk of dying.
The beloved ITV star, known for her vibrant personality and powerful voice, revealed she's been diagnosed with dangerously high blood pressure - a condition she describes as a "silent killer" that nearly claimed her life.
The Terrifying Diagnosis
During a routine check-up, Brenda received the devastating news that her blood pressure readings were alarmingly high. "I was told I could have died," the emotional star shared with her Loose Women colleagues. "It was a complete shock because I felt absolutely fine."
This health wake-up call came just two years after Brenda suffered the unimaginable tragedy of losing her son, music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards, who passed away in February 2022 from a cardiac arrest.
Life-Saving Lifestyle Changes
Since the diagnosis, Brenda has completely transformed her daily routine and eating habits. She's cut out salt, embraced regular exercise, and become vigilant about monitoring her blood pressure.
"I've had to make significant changes to my lifestyle," Brenda explained. "It's been a journey of education about what high blood pressure really means and how it can silently damage your body without any obvious symptoms."
Raising Awareness
Brenda is now using her platform to warn others about the dangers of untreated high blood pressure. She's become an advocate for regular check-ups, emphasising that this condition can affect anyone regardless of how healthy they might feel.
"We need to talk about this more," she urged. "So many people are walking around with high blood pressure and don't even know it. I was one of them, and I consider myself lucky to have caught it in time."
The television personality's brave confession has sparked important conversations about heart health and the importance of regular medical screenings, proving that even celebrities aren't immune to life-threatening health conditions.
