The Guardian's Thursday news quiz has reached a milestone, celebrating its 250th edition with a special bumper quiz featuring 22 questions. The quiz covers topical news, general knowledge, pop culture, and includes every regular round from the past that the team could remember and that didn't pose legal issues.
Participants are warned against using sky lanterns due to fire hazards and risks to wildlife, in a nod to the quiz's playful tone. The quiz invites readers to test their knowledge on a range of topics, from Liz Truss's short-lived premiership to the origins of apples and a group of wild boars.
For those who believe there is an error in a question or answer, the quiz encourages polite corrections in the comments section, provided they are not attempting to fact-check a joke. The Guardian suggests listening to Sparks' song 'Do Things My Own Way' to match the quiz's independent spirit.
