Princess Kate's Wimbledon Post Snubs Alexander Zverev Despite Final
Kate's Wimbledon Post Omits Zverev Despite Final Appearance

The Princess of Wales has shared a social media tribute to Wimbledon, describing the fortnight as 'remarkable', but notably excluded men's runner-up Alexander Zverev from the post. The Instagram message, posted on the official account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, featured images of champions Jannik Sinner and Linda Noskova, as well as women's runner-up Karolina Muchova, but did not include any picture of Zverev.

Royal Presence at the Championships

Catherine, a patron of the All England Club, attended both finals days alongside her husband Prince William and their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She presented trophies to all four finalists after their matches. The women's final saw Noskova defeat Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, while the men's final was a dramatic five-setter where Sinner came from behind to beat Zverev 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In her post, Catherine wrote: 'A weekend at @Wimbledon. Congratulations to all the players and staff who took part in a remarkable fortnight of tennis.' The accompanying photos showed her walking with family, presenting trophies to Sinner and Noskova, handing a plate to Muchova, shaking hands with Sinner off the court, interacting with ball boys and girls and ground staff, and moments in the crowd. Zverev was absent from all images.

Zverev's Comments on Royalty

The omission may sting for Zverev, who had earlier expressed how special it was to perform in front of the Royal Family. During the trophy ceremony, he said: 'One more thing, it is very special playing on this Centre Court, and it is because of the Royal Box as well. The amount of special people I see for every single match, especially the final, it is an honour to play in front of you, your Royal Highness and everybody. It is the most unique court in whole world, the royal box is special thing, and it is a massive honour to play on this court, simple as that.'

Sinner's Interaction with the Royals

Champion Jannik Sinner, meanwhile, had the opportunity to speak with the royal family in the clubhouse after his victory. He shared his appreciation for their passion for tennis. 'I have so much respect,' Sinner said in his post-match press conference. 'You can really see that they love this sport. This is exactly how we feel as players when we see them. They're staying there for four hours under the sun with the heat, it's really nice. I asked the kids if they still play. They're very happy. Yes they do. We had a very very small conversation, but I love it that they also take time to talk with me.'

The post has drawn attention to the selective nature of the royal couple's social media coverage, highlighting the champions and one runner-up while excluding the other.
