Corrie's Jack P. Shepherd Welcomes Baby Girl Constance

This Morning's soap expert Sharon Marshall delivered joyful news on Wednesday, July 1, revealing that Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd and his wife Hanni have welcomed a baby girl named Constance. Appearing on the show alongside hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Marshall shared the update while discussing upcoming soap storylines.

Baby Constance Arrives at Home

Jack, who has played David Platt on Coronation Street for 26 years, announced the birth on Instagram, posting a photo of his newborn's hand. He wrote: "Constance Ita Shepherd. Our beautiful baby girl has arrived, born peacefully at home, surrounded by love. 26.6.26." The baby was born at home on June 26, 2026.

This Morning displayed the social media post during the segment, and Marshall said: "And congratulations to Jack P. Shepherd and his wife, Hanni, who had a little girl, Constance! Lovely, congratulations to you two."

Paternity Leave and Storyline Impact

Jack, already a father to three children including two with ex-girlfriend Lauren Shippey, announced earlier in July he would take a break from Coronation Street for paternity leave. His character David Platt has been embroiled in dramatic storylines, including chaos caused by his sister-in-law Jodie Ramsey, who seeks revenge against Shona Platt. David has also been supporting his brother Nick Tilsley as the family deals with Sam Blakeman's mental health crisis, including a schizophrenia diagnosis.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
