Will Best and his professional partner Dianne Buswell have revealed they are planning to 'go for a record' in the next live show of Strictly Come Dancing. The pair also shared their agreed 'worst-case scenario' as the competition continues.
The update comes a day after fans expressed concern over another star, and ahead of Icons Week, which airs Saturday evening (October 17) on BBC One and iPlayer. One contestant has already had to pull out, but the remaining celebrities are training hard for their next routines.
Training update and jive plans
The 41-year-old Big Brother presenter has confirmed he will perform the jive to Elton John's Crocodile Rock alongside Dianne Buswell. Days before the live show, the duo shared an Instagram story showing them lying on the floor with their feet resting on the mirror, describing it as 'touchy time'.
Will shared his current struggles, saying: "I think it's the brain that's letting me down this week." Dianne immediately offered to bring almonds to their next session, but when asked if the nut was good for the brain, she admitted: "I don't know."
The pair continued updating followers as Dianne said: "Listen, you all know we're doing the jive. We said it on the results show. There's a lot of steps in the jive."
Record attempt and worst-case scenario
Will then revealed: "Yeah, and you're going for the record, aren't you? You're trying to put in the most steps ever in a jive - in a minute and a half." Dianne confirmed: "That's what I'm going for. But you're doing so good. There's a lot to remember."
He also shared their agreed approach to the rest of the competition, saying: "We want to get to a place where the worst-case scenario is low scores but a lot of fun. That's also the best case scenario. We just want to make sure people are laughing with us, not at us. But let's see."
Fan support
Fans have shown support for Will after he made it through another week. One fan commented on his Instagram post: "Your Waltz with Dianne gave me goosebumps and reminded me of the ‘So Close’ dance scene from the Disney film Enchanted. It really was magical." Another added: "You were sensational." A third replied: "You were absolutely brilliant! Blew everyone away! Still feeling rather smug about that £30 bet I put on you to win! No pressure, Will, but I've got money riding on those hips!"
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
