The weekly quiz series Name the Football Star is back, offering a light-hearted break from the working day. The challenge tests the football knowledge of Star Gold premium subscribers, who must identify famous stars from the beautiful game.
The catch: players are identified only by their Wikipedia profile and senior career clubs. Clues are limited to their list of clubs, number of appearances, and goals scored, as shown on the right-hand side of their Wikipedia page. Nationality and position are not provided.
This Week's Legends
This week's quiz includes legends of world football, such as a Chelsea icon who played in India, a Premier League veteran goalscorer, and a controversial star who has played for clubs from Manchester United to Macclesfield Town.
Participants must type the player's name to score points. Misspellings result in a fail for that question. Full names or first or last names are accepted.
How to Participate
The quiz is available online, and participants can share their scores in the comments section. Readers are encouraged to challenge friends and family to beat their score.
The quiz returns every Monday for another instalment.
