An enormous 3D dinosaur artwork has taken over Montgomery Square near Canary Wharf station, celebrating the upcoming Warner Bros. film 'The End of Oak Street'. The installation, which measures over 1,200 square feet, was created by award-winning 3D artists Joe and Max and offers visitors a taste of the film's wild premise.
Immersive Prehistoric Experience
The artwork depicts a half-destroyed black cab and sliced-up telephone box caught in the middle of a mysterious cosmic event, complete with dramatic mist. Visitors can pose among the wreckage and use costume and prop elements inspired by the film's 1980s setting.
The film follows a family whose quiet suburban neighbourhood is transported into the prehistoric age by a mysterious cosmic event, featuring hungry dinosaurs. The installation aims to reflect the thrilling and inventive nature of the film.
Behind the Scenes
Artist Joe Hill said: "As a 3D artist and huge dinosaur enthusiast, this brief couldn’t have been more exciting. The End of Oak Street is a thrilling and hugely inventive edge-of-your-seat experience and we’ve tried to reflect that in this immense immersive art display."
The installation was created over several weeks using acrylic paint on canvas, with the main artwork measuring 14 metres by eight metres before additional 3D elements were added.
Visitor Experience
Visitors can enjoy the installation from 12pm to 7pm on Monday August 10 and Tuesday August 11, with pizza available from midday while stocks last. The pizza is inspired by Ewan McGregor's character Greg, a pizza delivery driver in the film.
3D Joe and Max are renowned for their anamorphic artworks, having created installations worldwide and broken Guinness World Records for the largest and longest anamorphic artwork.
